Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology is a 3-year program that focuses on the technical aspects of handloom weaving, textile production, and design. The program aims to impart technical knowledge and skills in handloom weaving, processing and design. It develops understanding of the textile industry, processes and products. The students will be equipped with skills to design, produce and market handloom and textile products. This program provides career opportunities in handloom and textile industries, Government organisations and entrepreneurs by setting up design studio and handloom products, designers and production managers in fashion and apparel industry.
The age limit for admission to the first year of Diploma Course in Handlooms & Textile Technology for all the categories except SC/ST should be between 15-23 years and for SC/ST candidates it should be between 15-25 years as on 16 th July of the admission year. (In case of admission into direct second year under Lateral Entry, the maximum age limit will be 27 for SC/ST candidates and 25 for other than SC/ST candidates.)
